    Another great race this weekend at Von Hotlen Ranch in Mora, MO! Thanks Brandy and David Von Holten for setting up two great courses for our riders. It may have been hot and muggy, but our riders still brought their best! Hopefully at least some of you got to enjoy the trails at Von Holten Ranch as well (they were in the shade!).

    A big THANK YOU to R Bar B and Greg Schuetz for putting on a great race last weekend. The courses were challenging and fun and despite the heat and humidity, we had a fantastic turnout—115 entries. And talk about some great prizes! All of our riders did a great job and we are up to 124 members…the most ever in our growing Association!

    Our second event of the season was a big success (95 entries) despite the dreary weather and soggy courses. Our riders as well as the volunteers from the Linn County Trailblazers “Cowboyed Up!” to get it done. A huge thank you to all of the Trailblazer kids (and their dedicated parents) for putting on a smooth and enjoyable event.  We really couldn’t do it without our AMZAZING hosts! Kudos to all our riders for coming out to ride and congratulations to our winners. Results of have been posted on the website.

    The Miller Ranch Event has been rescheduled for August 8! Mark your calendars.

    Due to impending severe weather, course conditions, and potential parking issues, the event host and the board have decided to postpone the Miller Ranch Event for tomorrow. Safety is our first priority! This race will be rescheduled for another weekend. Look for details next week.

    The board is monitoring the weather forecast and will determine if this weekend’s race should be cancelled by noon tomorrow (Friday) due to severe weather predictions. The safety of our members and their horses/mules is our first priority. Check back here for updates tomorrow.

    Wow! What a way to start the 2015 season off right. A BIG thank you to the Riverside Cowboy Church and Eagle Ranch Resort for putting on a fantastic event. If there was ever an award for the smoothest and timeliest event, they would win it! And a special thank you to our event secretaries Beth Sandness and Holly Rushing. We could not have done it without you wonderful ladies! We had a record 121 entries—our biggest event EVER! This is going to be a record-breaking kind of year for sure. We already have 98 members after the first event!

     

    It was so great to see so many familiar faces and so many new folks getting their first taste of UHCA! We’d like to welcome the 38 new members that have joined this year. We hope you all had a great event and first experience with UHCA and are excited as the rest of us for the next race.  Welcome to the family!

     

    Congratulations to all of our riders at Eagle Ranch. There we so many great runs and UHCA continues raise the level of extreme cowboy racing as evidenced by our quality horses, mules, and riders.

    The UHCA Judging Clinic is still planned to start at 10 am tomorrow Saturday, February 28 at Rocking V Ranch, just south of Topeka. While the meteorologists are calling for some snow, we are still planning to have the clinic, which is in an indoor arena. Auditors, please bring a lunch and a chair. The clinic will last until 2:00 pm. Please drop us an email at ultiamtehca@gmail.com if you registered and are not planning to attend for weather or any other reason.  Don’t forget there is a second clinic in Louisburg on March 7! If you did not register, but would still like to attend, email ultimatehca@gmail.com.
